$100,000 Available in Historic Preservation Grants
Owners of older buildings in unincorporated Lee County have a chance to obtain funds to fix up their old, historic structures under the Lee County Historic Preservation Grant Assistance Program. This year, $100,000 is available in rehabilitation grant funds. The average grant is $5,000; awards range from $800 to $25,000. To qualify, a building must be about 50 years old and designated or qualify for designation under the Lee County Land Development Code Chapter 22, Historic Preservation. All applications are due by 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19. Learn how to apply.

Nominations Due Jan. 16 for Chrysalis Awards

The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau (VCB) and the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Inc. are seeking nominations for the sixth annual Chrysalis Awards to honor businesses and individuals who have positively impacted the local community. Award nominations are due by Jan. 16 and are open to any member of the local business community, regardless of whether they are directly a part of the tourism industry. Read more.

Can’t Make It to a Board Meeting? Submit an Ecomment


Members of the public who are unable to attend the Lee County Commission's Regular Board Meetings can still share their opinions on agenda items with the Board through “Ecomments.” Once the agenda is posted online for the next Regular Board Meeting, submit your comment electronically by clicking on the agenda item. Then click the “Make a Comment” button that appears in the right column. The deadline to submit comments is 8 a.m. the Monday prior to the meeting.
